Gran actuación de los Celtics. Buena defensa y un ataque indefendible. Se puso 3-1 arriba en la serie frente a Atlanta, que parece rendido con un bajísimo nivel de sus estrellas.

Boston comenzaba rápidamente a ponerse arriba en el marcador y Atlanta cometía muchas pérdidas. De los 6 primeros tiros de cancha convertidos por los Celtics, 5 fueron con asistencia de Rajon Rondo. Boston sacaba 8 de diferencia (17-9) a 6:56 para el término del primer cuarto. Paul Pierce estaba intratable. A 5:20 para el final del primer cuarto se producía el regreso de Al Horford para Atlanta luego de casi 4 meses. El primer cuarto finalizaba 32-19 arriba los Celtics. Pierce lideraba a su equipo con 10 puntos y Rondo entregaba 7 asistencias. Joe Johnson llevaba 5 puntos para Atlanta. 

Boston quickly began to get up on the scoreboard and Atlanta committed many turnovers. In the first 6 shots scored by the Celtics, 5 were assisted by Rajon Rondo. Boston took 8 of difference (17-9) at 6:56 to the end of the first quarter. Paul Pierce was untreatable. At 5:20 to the end of the quarter there was the return of Al Horford to Atlanta after almost 4 months. The first quarter ended 32-19 the Celtics up. Pierce led his team with 10 points and Rondo delivered 7 assists. Joe Johnson had 5 points for Atlanta.

Boston continued to deploy all their game and Atlanta faded. The Celtics took the maximum of 37 (80-43) at 8:13 to end the third quarter. A 17-2 run of the Hawks put the score 60-82 in the absence of 1:45. Finally, the third quarter was more even but Boston won 26-22.

Ya en el último cuarto los Hawks salieron muy apurados pero sin encontrar respuestas. Atlanta lanzaba a los 10 segundos de comenzar la posesión y fallaba mucho. Boston mantuvo a sus titulares al comienzo del parcial y luego el entrenador Doc Rivers movió la banca. Paul Pierce fue el goleador de la noche con 24 puntos (10/13 en cancha) pero la figura fue Rajon Rondo con 20 puntos y 16 asistencias. En Atlanta, se destacó Josh Smith con 15 puntos y 13 rebotes.

Already in the fourth quarter the Hawks came a hurry but without finding answers. Atlanta threw at 10 seconds into the possession and failed a lot. Boston kept his hold at the beginning of the quarter and coach Doc Rivers then moved the bench. Paul Pierce was the leading scorer of the night with 24 points (10/13 in field goal) but the best player was Rajon Rondo with 20 points and 16 assists. In Atlanta, Josh Smith stood out with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
